By intake
Three ways into the year.
Most students start in the fall, but funding is not limited to it. If your program begins at an odd time, that is a phone call rather than a problem.
Once you are funded
Two habits, and that is all of it.
No portal to fight with and no quarterly paperwork. These are the only two dates you have to hold on to for the rest of your program.
- Declare by the 20th Confirm you are still enrolled. Takes about two minutes, same form every month. Miss it and your next payment holds until it comes in. That is a hold, not a penalty, and it lifts as soon as the form arrives.
- Marks at the end of every term Send your grades once the term closes. If a term went badly, call before it ends rather than after. A bad term is workable. Going quiet for four months is what makes it hard to help.
If you miss one
Late is a different thing from never.
Call the office rather than sending the form in and hoping. A late application is a conversation, and the person on the phone can tell you in a minute whether it can still go through for this intake or whether you are looking at the next one.
Planning ahead
Apply before you have your acceptance.
Starting the conversation early costs nothing. It means the file is half built by the time your acceptance letter arrives, and it gives you somewhere to ask questions while you are still choosing a program.
